Acknowledgement

of Country

We acknowledge that the land that we gather and perform on is the traditional country and homelands of the Taribelang Bunda, Gooreng Gooreng, Gurang, and Bailai Peoples of the Bundaberg region.

We acknowledge they have walked, cared for, sung, told stories and danced on this land for thousands of years. We acknowledge and respect their spiritual relationship, cultural heritage, beliefs and connection to this land, and it is still important to their descendants of today.

We acknowledge the Elders, those here today and those who have passed back into the great dreaming.

BEAUTY AND THE BEAST 1982
	Before the well known lavish musical production of today, there was another 'Beauty and The Beast' - our panto, described in the News Mail as a "dynamic show that must be included in Players' success stories; with audience participation extremely loud and needing very little encouragement" Lyndall Pratt (formerly Duncan) as Beauty, was described as "a compliment to any fairy story performed on a stage; the perfectly devoted daughter content with whatever made her father happy and ignoring snide remarks from her ugly (aren't they always?) sisters" Others in the cast included Greg Toohey and Val O'Meara (her sisters), Geoff Colledge (her father) and Nigel Dick as The Beast (aka Prince Ferdinand), The large chorus included D A Halpin, Val and Glenys Nelson.
